At church a few weeks ago, the pastor was talking about what we as Christians know that other people dont know, and what abilities we have to do about it. The connection was about the Gospel and spreading it, but this got me thinking.
There is something else that I know that most others don’t, and that is what it is like to live with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. I may not have the ability to walk or crawl but I do have the ability to speak and advocate for myself. I have a different perspective of life than most people, and this is not a barrier. I believe God has given me a mission to share this gift with others and inspire them to see from different perspectives of the world.
I encourage everyone, delbasid or not, to focus on what they are able to do rather than on what they aren’t. What is it that you have that you can share with the world?
